This song was meant to convey that we as people are powerful.

We think we live in a world in which we receive and conform to a status quo, mostly determined by the people and information in our environment.

However, today more than ever, we must learn to exercise independent thought--by looking within and embracing that truth.

There can be no truth found outside, only confirmations.
That's why the chorus repeats "F what they say and f the news". We've been taught that the only information worth something is that which comes secondhand, instead of from our own analysis and wisdom.

This is the only way to freedom and, to put it bluntly, sanity/mental health.

When we become independent thinkers and intuit-ers (is that a word?) we begin to practice the highest level of autonomy, which is the one gift we are given by (insert your name for a Higher Power here).

This to me is one aspect of what it means to be "Godly".

When you know how to discern what is true and valuable from the opposite, then act upon that discernment, you become immensely empowered and powerful.
While others are caught in ignorance and confusion, you move effortlessly through life.
